Latest Bank of America email scam arrived today. This one is pretty obvious for those of us who’ve been scammed before. 2011 email here: https://figville.wordpress.com/2011/02/13/bank-of-america-email-scam/
To the innocent, unscarred email recipient who may have recently opened an account, you’re the target, it seems.
Here’s the email:
Address looks like this:
From: Bank of America <firstname.lastname@example.org>
Notice the .carja.com at the end? Very inexperienced, to say the least. But, if you’re a new account holder, you may not notice that.
Subject: Your new account status: UNSAFE
Message: We are sorry to inform you that your account status was changed to “UNSAFE” due to incorrect information supplied.
Please see the form attached to change your account status to “SAFE”.
There’s a link after the message. DO NOT CLICK on it.
